As a specialist in selling Carmel, Indiana Real Estate for the past 8 years, I have had many people who are moving from out of State tell me that they keep hearing that Carmel, Indiana is the town to live! Here are a few reasons why I love Carmel, and I think you should to when considering where to move in the Indianapolis area:
1) Ranked #1 Town to Live in U.S. by CNNMoney in 2012
2)Only a short commute to Downtown Indianapolis(20-30 minutes). Being the bordering suburb to the North of Downtown Indianapolis, Carmel provides easy access to all the city has to offer and makes it an easy commute to work for it’s residents.
3) #1 Ranked School System- Carmel has consistently been ranked the #1 public school system in Indiana.
4) Beautiful Downtown- In the past few years, the city of Carmel has completely redone downtown Carmel to make an amazing place to work, eat, and play!
5)Great Recreational Areas- The Monon Trail goes North and South through Carmel which makes it a great trail for biking, running, and walking! The Monon Center in Central Park in Carmel is a great place to workout, swim, and play!
6)Affordable Real Estate and Luxury Properties- Carmel is a very affordable town when you compare it to other great places in the United States, and Carmel offers homes ranging from affordable ranch and two story homes to mega mansions in gated communities.
Carmel, Indiana is a great town just North of Indianapolis, Indiana. Being in close proximity with great schools and low taxes, Carmel has attracted many people and businesses alike. We work with many luxury buyers and seller and we find when they first relocate here they always want to start with Carmel then look in Zionsville and/or Geist Reservoir area. Carmel offers so much in terms of luxury living and if you are coming from the East or West Coast, you are going to be pleasantly suprised at how great a deal you can get on a luxurious home. For example, I just listed for sale a beautiful 7140sqft Custom Home on wooded preserve with theatre room, main floor master, and in-law quarters in East Carmel for $600,000! The best neighborhoods for very nice homes are:

Carmel Arts & Design District is located in Downtown Carmel and has gone through a great facelift in the past few years. As a Carmel, Indiana Real Estate specialist I recommend all of my clients who are considering moving to Carmel to visit the downtown area! Main Street goes through the new downtown and it is so beautiful. There are new shops, restaurants, condos, and apartments lining the street. In the warmer months the majority of the restaurants offer outdoor dining as well. Get a hamburger at famous Bub’s Burgers, a great pizza at Bazbeaux Pizza, or a all american homemade food at Detour Grille which all sit where the Monon Trail meets Main Street in the heart of Downtown Carmel! Hungry for dessert there are a few Yogurt, Cupcake, and Ice Cream places as well! The Arts & Design district also offers nightlife from the bar at Detour to a great classic looking Irish Pub Muldoon’s! During the day, there are several quaint shops and galleries! Feeling like cooking at home? Make sure to go by Joe’s Butcher Shop and Fish Market to get the freshest meat and seafood! Whether you are shopping, dining, or just enjoying the outdoors the Carmel Arts & Design District has options for everyone and is a great addition to Carmel, Indiana!
